Hommy Almonte

Business Leader

Hommy Almonte is an experienced business leader from White Plains, New York. He has over 10 years of experience in global operations, marketing, and sales. His track record of success has earned Hommy a leadership position in sales at Bristol-Myers Squibb, where he has been employed since 2011. 

Hommy’s current role at Bristol-Myers Squibb is Immuno-Oncology Field Sales Trainer. In this position, Hommy Almonte focuses on developing current and newly hired sales professionals, including district managers, in disease state knowledge, selling skills, and business analytics. This includes the additional responsibility of partnering with key internal stakeholders to effectively execute US Oncology’s strategic imperatives.

Before earning this leadership position, Hommy Almonte worked in several other roles at Bristol-Myers Squibbs. From 2017 to 2018, he served as a Community Product Specialist. During this time, Hommy worked to develop, market, and grow Bristol-Myers Squibb’s Immuno-Oncology portfolio in the Westchester, New York area. 

From 2015 to 2016, Hommy Almonte worked for Bristol-Myers Squibb as HCV Operations Lead of Worldwide Commercialization. During this time, Hommy was the liaison between global HCV brand teams in key markets in Asia, Europe, and Latin America to ensure the execution of global franchise strategy. His role included managing a $15 million budget. Additionally, Hommy was the global lead for both key international liver congresses: the European Association of the Study of the Liver (ESAL) and the Asian Pacific Association for the Study of the Liver (APASL).   

Hommy Almonte attended Rutgers College, the State University of New Jersey, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in economics in May 2002. While in school, he also earned a minor in communications. Hommy Almonte returned to higher education to earn his Master of Business Administration at the Johnson Graduate School of Management, a graduate business school in the SC Johnson College of Business at Cornell University. 

In addition to his success as a business professional, Hommy Almonte is an active member of his community. As part of a larger group, Hommy has volunteered his time Hearts With Haiti, which a funding partner for the St. Joseph Family. The St. Joseph Family is an organization focused on helping the most disadvantaged people in Haiti, including those with disabilities, the homeless, and those affected by human trafficking. Hommy has even traveled to Haiti to assist with the building of a new library.

Hommy Almonte is also one of three leaders of a company called the UNderdogstuff Company. UNderdogstuff is not only a company but a community as well. Their values include “entrepreneurship, financial freedom, and finding our way back home.” In his role as a leader with the organization, Hommy has developed content and facilitated transformational workshops. He is passionate about serving and inspiring others through these events. 

Hommy Almonte is also an avid sports fan. While he enjoys all sports, he especially enjoys playing golf. Whenever he can, he takes the time to travel and experience new golf courses across the country. He lives by the quote “Life is short, don’t hesitate.”
